Is it normal for Wisdom tooth stitches to fall out?

Thursday, August 19th, 2010

(I had all 4 wisdom teeth, and a root canal tooth taken out 6 days ago, they used dis-solvable stitches to suture it all up, on my root canal tooth, one of the stitches fell out, is that normal? there is still another one attached to my outside gum, but i just want to be sure its normal because id rather not go through the pain again, its not hurting or bleeding at all, but im freaked out that the hole is gonna open again or something because it fell out…..)

Answer:

Yes since they are dissolvable sutures that is perfectly normal. Over the 6 days your body begins to break down the sutures and will fall out one by one because they are no longer needed because your body has rebuilt the lower levels of the tissues so it should not spread apart (Re-open the hole). Also since there are others the chances of it re-opening are slim.

Sutures are usually only kept in place for 7 days. So one day early should not be an issue. This is the right time for them to be falling out.

Fear About the baby health Can someone please help?

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

(Im 24 weeks pregnant and im afraid my baby wont be normal. I worry day and night sometime i cant sleep or eat. I work with disable kids and i fear my baby is going to be disable. I cry all the time because i feel so guilty for thinking so badly. I pray to god to bless me with a health baby. Can someone please help me? P.S Is this normal)

Answer:

It’s normal to have those thoughts, but if you’re obsessing over them and can’t eat or sleep, you need to talk to your doctor. Hopefully they will be able to reassure you based upon all your diagnostic appointments, etc. You’re suffering from anxiety, and the stress you are putting yourself through isn’t good for your baby. Use the power of positive thinking! Picture your baby as perfect and beautiful. When you start thinking negatively, you need to consciously make the decision to push those thoughts out of your mind.

Odds are in your favor that your baby will be just fine. Good luck to you!

How to enroll baby in health insurance?

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

(Hi, I am pregnant and due on June first and we are looking for health insurance for the baby I am on my husbands but it would be terribly expensive to add him to it, our older daughter is on an individual plan, so im planning to give them a call and see their rates… how do you go about getting health insurance for a newborn? do you have to wait until you have their birth certificate to enroll? what should I look for in a health insurance policy..

I would really appreciate suggestions

thank you)

Answer :

You can’t technically enroll the baby until it is born and you have the social security number. If you are wanting to find a good insurance in the mean time I would call around to different insurance companies and explain to them that you are due and when and see if they can guide you to a good plan. Because babies have so many well visits I would look for a plan that has a low copay for doctor’s visits because you will be paying this a lot in the first year and thereafter.

What are reasons that Child Pertective Servies could take your child, I am worried for my sisters baby health?

Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

(My sister has a 5 month old baby boy. She leaves him with random people, mainly guys to go party and get drunk. She doesn’t work and muches of people to get by. She takes advantage of the government for food stamps b/c she refuses to work. Can CPS take her baby? There is a possiblity of drug abuse that she is doing and others she brings around her small child.)

Answer :

Now that you know how your nephew is being treated and know of the enviornment in which he is being subjected to it is “your duty” to call CPS and ask them to investigate the situation. You are “his Auntie” and “he needs you” to be sure he is safe and secure. Just be sure to consult CPS before doing anything (unless you witness propable harm—then take him to a safe enviornment right away!) so that all will work out best for yor nephew. By doing this you might even be helping your sister become a responsible parent as well as an eventual responsible citizen.

I can remember a similar situation when I was a teenager. A young girl that my mother had helped raise from time to time began doing hard drugs and my mother got word that the young girl and her friends where making the baby drink beer and take hits of marijuana for their entertainment. So my mother went and got the baby, saying that she just wanted to babysit for the day and as soon as the young girl and her friends left the apartment we went in and gathered the babies things and took her home with us and kept her until she could be placed safely with a family member of the young girl.

My feeling is that whenever one is aware of abuse and/or neglect of a child they must step in and do what is best for that child—even if it means calling CPS and having the child placed with a responsible adult or in a “safe house” while the investigation is being conducted.

Please be sure your nephew is safe and secure. He will forever love you and respect you for having the strength and courage to step in at a time in his life when he was too little to do anything to help his self.

I wish I could do more—thank you for soliciting for advice and direction toward assuring your nephew to have a better chance at having a happy, positive successful childhood.

Love you for what you are doing—Tillie
